Pet Rescue
As
well as rescuing people from time to time! over the past eleven years we have
rescued lots of sick or unwanted pets.

We have a very small home and a medium sized garden, so rescuing stray cats and dogs is no mean feat!
Over past years we have been the local 'Lost & Found' register for cats.
Taken the 'overflow' for the Cat Protection Association (as it was known then)
Taken in hurt and homeless cats/kittens and brought them back to full health
Boarded a very old cat for its owner when she had a prolonged stay in hospital, who dribbled copiously when she was nervous, (the cat not the owner)!
Being 'home' to a baby herring gull that had fallen out of its nest until it was old enough to fly away with its friends. (we do not recommend this unless you really like having a garden full of half digested fish not nice! Cassie our collie hated being chased up and down the garden...very bad street-credibility for a collie!)
This was quite a challenging time for us all, as we had to teach him to fly by jumping up and down flapping our arms, Husband flatly refused to climb on the roof to show him how it was done! Eventually he got the idea and left us one Bright sunny Sunday morning to join his contemporaries on the beach.
Having an aviary of unwanted cockatiels and guinea pigs.
Looking after a totally blind/deaf but happy old cat that had either got lost or been kicked out and that no-one claimed. Until she gracefully passed away in my arms.
Nothing has ever been turned away from our door...and never will be!

There
are many more! like paying vets bills for people who simply cant afford to, and raising
donations for particular animals and their owners in distress...... Finding a
box of six gorgeous kittens (who were literally jumping with fleas) on our
doorstep!...... Helping with our local dolphin awareness group......... Nursing
a very injured young cat that had been savaged by a dog until it was well enough
to go home to its owners, and then arranging a local event to help raise the
cash for the extensive vets bills incured (and is still alive and very well!) and many many more....
For this work we have been, and still are totally self funded, but sometimes we could do with a little help from sympathetic and like minded people. This is why we are asking for a £5. donation from you!
